Nestled in the vibrant heart of Eugene, Oregon, Cowfish Cafe and Lounge is much more than your typical bar and lounge — it’s a spirited sanctuary where great drinks, lively music, and an inclusive atmosphere come together to create an unforgettable night out. Located conveniently at 62 W Broadway, this local hotspot has earned its reputation as a go-to destination for those craving dynamic nightlife infused with warmth and authenticity.
Step inside, and you’ll immediately feel the electric buzz of a place that celebrates community and good vibes. Regular patrons like Natalie Kasal rave about the welcoming bartenders and the ever-popular themed nights that keep the energy fresh and inviting. It’s clear that the team behind Cowfish isn’t just slinging drinks — they’re crafting memorable experiences where everyone feels safe to be themselves. Green Flamingo captures this beautifully, highlighting the owner’s grounded approach and the genuine efforts to foster a worry-free, nostalgic environment where strangers quickly become friends.
The drink menu at Cowfish is a standout, boasting expertly mixed classics and creative concoctions that cater to every palate. Signature cocktails like the warming Hot Toddy, the robust Bloody Mary, and the delightfully fruity Strawberry offer a perfect balance of familiar comfort and playful flair. Paired with local draft beers, these drinks elevate your evening whether you’re easing into a laid-back hangout or gearing up for a night of dancing.
Of course, great nights never flourish on drinks alone, and Cowfish delivers solidly on the food front with its brilliantly curated bar bites. The Bratwurst with Chips is a satisfying, savory option that perfectly complements the hearty drink list, while the Sausage Fest — featuring a mix-and-match selection of ten bratwursts or Hungarian hoagies — is ideal for sharing among friends. From classic beef dogs to fancy pork franks, the choices marry comfort and flavor, embodying the approachable bar food that Toby Malone praises for its affordability and taste.
The atmosphere itself is the heart and soul of Cowfish. Annelise’s excitement over the thumping bass and dope DJ sets speaks volumes about the lounge’s dedication to cultivating an energetic yet intimate space for music lovers and night owls alike. Dance floors here aren’t just places to move — they’re where decades-long memories are made, as longtime regular Marti Gee reflects on nearly ten years of coming back to Cowfish as her definitive spot for rhythm and connection in Eugene. The eclectic crowd, the clean and well-kept arcade games tucked away in the back, and the consistently spotless bathrooms all paint a picture of a venue that takes pride in every detail.
Whether you’re a local looking for a reliable night out or a traveler eager to dive into Eugene’s nightlife scene, Cowfish Cafe and Lounge promises a unique blend of hospitality, music, and culinary goodness. It’s a place where smiles are genuine, stories unfold over clinks of glasses, and the dance floor is never far away — a rare gem that truly knows how to bring people together for unforgettable moments.
I loveeeee the vibes here. The bartenders are always so nice and there are always fun themed nights
Danced all night, great drink list and deals! The owner isn’t like other bar owners. He’s grounded and wants to/ has created a safe place for everybody to be worry free & that nostalgia feeling we all crave for he offers. Shawn you’re amazing! Got the pleasure to meet the assistant manager Avery also, long story short, she is one of the few amazing people left on this earth. Truly comforting.
Really cool atmosphere. DJ was dope. LOUD MUSIC YESSS. Bass <3 Super sweet spot.
I have been in Oregon for nearly 2 decades. My first 9 months in Eugene and then 3 years in Bend. Then back to Eugene. And i was past ready to dance. I started in Bartopia and settled on COWFISH... AND NOW NEARLY A DECADE LATER I would still bring friends here before any other club in Lane. As a DJ for more years than i would like to admit... I have played more clubs than i want to admit... And i always told owners. UNTIL THEY ACTUALLY DJ. They have no idea how to really run a club.. And i just found out recently my friend and owner of Cowfish.... IS A DJ!! THIS IS 10 years later. No explanation you got to just FEEL for yourself.
Incredible atmosphere, lovely funky people. The food was in credible inexpensive and great for bar food. The drinks are really good, and there's a plethora of options for the DD. They have some very well maintained arcade games in the back, and the bathrooms always stay clean.
We popped in here because there wasn't a huge line and glad we did! Wasn't too crowded, but still plenty of ppl watching opportunity. Mixed ages, bathroom not too gross. Also, they have real loose leaf tea! So that was one fancy hot toddy! staff were super nice and there's a game room tucked to the side with pin all and pool. 100% will go again. Great vibes.
We stumbled onto cowfish because we saw a past event poster on a telephone poll. The lounge was pretty dead BUT this place is so cool and unique that it super didn’t matter. The music was fun and they have games and what not to really make this place a great time.
